Has your company considered doing business in China? Have you ever wanted to visit the beautiful cities of Beijing and Shanghai? The Kentucky Chamber invites you to participate in a nine-day tour of China that will not only open your eyes to the vast business opportunities this country of 1.3 billion has to offer, but also give you the adventure of a lifetime. During the tour, knowledgeable guides will take you through the large, modern cities of Beijing and Shanghai, as well as rapidly developing cities like Suzhou and Hangzhou. The ultimate goal of this trip is to help participants become more comfortable with China, being in China and hopefully, become interested in doing business with China!

Trip Itinerary

DAY ONE
Sept. 10 — JFK/Beijing
Check in at JFK International Airport for an afternoon flight to Beijing. Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific aboard a wide cabin jetliner. Cross the International Dateline.

DAY TWO
Sept. 11 — Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China at 6 p.m. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel after dinner.

DAY THREE
Sept. 12 — Beijing
Visit the Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world, and the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heavens for a good harvest. Sightseeing also includes the Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City, home of 24 emperors with a total space of 9,999 rooms, and the Summer Palace, known for many significant sites such as the Long Corridor, with painted gallery, Kunming Lake, Longevity Hill, Seventeen-Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.

DAY FOUR
Sept. 13 — Beijing
Tour bus excursion to the Great Wall, the 4,000-mile long and 2,000 year-old construction is said to be the only man-made structure visible by naked eye from the moon. Visit the Ming Tombs. One of 13 Ming Emperors' Tombs is fully excavated and open for
exploration. Roasted Beijing Duck Dinner.

DAY FIVE
Sept. 14 — Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou
Morning China Eastern flight to Shanghai. Spend the day at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China. Evening tour bus trip to Suzhou.

DAY SIX
Sept. 15 — Suzhou/Hangzhou
Morning sightseeing to the centuries-old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with a 1,000-year history. Evening dinner show of traditional Chinese music
followed by a tour bus journey to Hangzhou.

DAY SEVEN
Sept. 16 – Hangzhou/Shanghai
Visit the Economic Development Zone. Visit the centuries old Lingyin Temple, with the main feature of the 64.3 foot-high camphor-wood carved Buddha. Afternoon boat cruise on West Lake, with relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses.
Evening tour bus trip to Shanghai.

DAY EIGHT
Sept. 17 — Shanghai
Sightseeing includes the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over-arching trees. Visit the Bund, a famous waterfront park. Business visit to the Pudong economic development zone.

DAY NINE
Sept. 18 —  Shanghai/Beijing/JFK
Morning flight to Beijing. Afternoon flight will depart by 1 p.m. for JFK, where you will arrive at 1:30 p.m. on the same day.

A representative from Citslinc International, a company with over 28 years experience in China Tours, will provide detailed information and answer all questions.

Important Information
The price of the trip is $2099 for Kentucky Chamber Members and $2399 for Non-members per person and is based on double occupancy. A single room in all cities will cost an additional $450. The cost to upgrade to business class on the roundtrip flights is an additional $6,000. A nonrefundable deposit of $200 is due with your registration. The deposit is due by July 1, 2010 and applied toward the total cost of your trip. The deadline for full payment is July 1, 2010.
 
It is the responsibility of the traveler to secure or update their passport through March 2011. Also, all travelers must have a valid Chinese visa. The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce can handle visa applications at a cost of $145 per person. It is also the responsibility of the traveler to book their travel to John F. Kennedy International Airport arriving before Noon Sept. 10, 2010 and departing after Noon on Sept. 18, 2010.
