The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us as we take our third trip to China!
 
Has your company considered doing business in China? Have you ever wanted to visit the beautiful cities of Beijing and Shanghai? The Kentucky Chamber invites you to participate in a nine-day tour of China that will not only open your eyes to the vast business opportunities this country of 1.3 billion has to offer, but also give you the adventure of a lifetime. During the tour, knowledgeable guides will take you through the large, modern cities of Beijing and Shanghai, as well as rapidly developing cities like Suzhou and Hangzhou. The ultimate goal of this trip is to help participants become more comfortable with China, being in China and hopefully, become interested in doing business with China!

Trip Itinerary* 

DAY ONE — OCT. 8
JFK/Beijing
Check in at JFK International Airport for flight to Beijing. Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific aboard a wide cabin jetliner. Cross the International Dateline.

DAY TWO — OCT. 9
Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel.

DAY THREE — OCT. 10
Beijing
Start the day with a business meeting of distinguished panelists “What It’s Like Doing Business in China – Part 1.” Visit the Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world, and the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heavens for a good harvest. Sightseeing also includes the Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City, home of 24 emperors with a total space of 9,999 rooms; the Summer Palace, known for many significant sites such as the Long Corridor with painted gallery, Kunming Lake, Longevity Hill, Seventeen-Arch Bridge and Marble Boat; and Hutong, the traditional living area for ordinary Beijing citizens which dates back 1,000 years.

DAY FOUR — OCT. 11
Beijing
Tour bus excursion to the Great Wall, the 4,000-mile long and 2,000 year-old construction is said to be the only man-made structure visible by naked eye from the moon. Visit the Ming Tombs. One of 13 Ming Emperors' Tombs is fully excavated and open for exploration. Roasted Beijing Duck Dinner.

DAY FIVE — OCT. 12
Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou
Morning flight to Shanghai. Then take a tour bus trip to Suzhou. Afternoon sightseeing at the centuries-old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with a 1,000-year history.

DAY SIX — OCT. 13
Suzhou/Hangzhou
Morning tour bus journey to Hangzhou. Visit the Economic Development Zone; the centuries old Lingyin Temple, with the main feature of the 64.3 foot-high camphor-wood carved Buddha; and take a boat ride on Grand Canal, a purely artificial object completed 1,300 years ago by the Chinese people.

DAY SEVEN — OCT. 14
Hangzhou/Shanghai
Morning boat cruise on West Lake, with relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses. Afternoon tour bus trip to Shanghai.

DAY EIGHT — OCT. 15
Shanghai
Start your last full day in China with a business meeting of distinguished panelists “What It’s Like Doing Business in China – Part 2. ” Followed by sightseeing that includes the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over-arching trees; Bund, a famous waterfront park; a business visit to the Pudong economic development zone; and Shanghai Maglev Train, the first commercial rail line of its kind in the world.

DAY NINE — OCT. 16
Shanghai/Beijing/JFK
Flight to Beijing followed by flight to JFK, where you will arrive on the same day.

Important Information
The price of the trip is $2299 for Kentucky Chamber Members and $2599 for Non-members per person and is based on double occupancy. A single room will cost an additional $450. The cost to upgrade to business class on the roundtrip flights is an additional $6,000. A nonrefundable deposit of $200 is due with your registration. The deadline for registration and full payment is July 1, 2012.
 
It is the responsibility of the traveler to secure or update their passport through April 2013. Also, all travelers must have a valid Chinese visa. The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce can handle visa applications at a cost of $175 per person. It is also the responsibility of the traveler to book their travel to and from John F. Kennedy International Airport.
PLEASE NOTE: We highly recommend travelers not book departure and return flights from JFK until receiving the final international flight itinerary in Sept.

• $175 Chinese visa application processing fee (if you'd like us to handle this for you)
• $450 Single occupancy hotel room upgrade
• $6,000 Business class airfare upgrade
