Energy conference to focus on current issues facing Ky. energy users

In 2011 Kentucky had the 9th highest increase in electricity prices in the U.S. due primarily to government regulations and uncertainty in the regulatory community. Shedding light on such energy-related concerns and how they may impact Kentucky businesses is the goal of the  Second Annual Energy Management Conference, presented by Frost Brown Todd. The December 11-12 conference is less than two weeks away and will be held at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa in Lexington.

The conference will examine the numerous tools available to Kentucky’s businesses to better understand their current energy usage and to identify opportunities for significant savings through energy efficiency, conservation measures, new and emerging technologies and green building practices. We will focus on practical tips for controlling energy costs and reducing business uncertainty.

This year’s conference boasts nearly 30 presenters and panelists and includes three keynote presentations:

  • Exporting Energy – Kentucky’s Natural Resources Meeting the World’s Energy Demands, Jim Booth, CEO, Booth Energy
  • The EPA Perspective on Current Energy and Environmental Issues and Policies Affecting Kentucky, A. Stanley Meiburg, Ph.D., Deputy Regional Administrator, EPA Region 4
  • The Kentucky Environmental Regulators’ Perspective, Leonard K. Peters, Secretary, Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet
