Butch Collins is the Safety Director with Nucor Steel Gallatin located in Ghent, Kentucky. Mr. Collins has been in his current position since 1995. Prior to his time in the steel industry, Mr. Collins served in safety and risk management positions in the retail, insurance and mining industries. Eric is the Manager of Process Safety for EHS Technology Group LLC located in Moraine, Ohio. Eric has over 22 years of experience in the field of environmental health and safety. Prior to joining EHS Technology, Eric was responsible for managing the environmental health and safety program for two manufacturing facilities in the automotive industry. Todd obtained his undergraduate degree from Murray State University, as well as his graduate degree in Occupational Safety and Health, and his law degree from the University of Louisville. Barry S. Spurlock is a professor of Safety at Eastern Kentucky University, and a founding member of Safety Change Agents, a safety management and performance consulting firm. Dr. David Stumbo is an Associate Professor in Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Management. He has worked in occupational safety & health for over 20 years, including various positions within the Kentucky OSH Program including Compliance Officer, Industrial Hygiene Consultant, and Safety Program Manager. David brings with him 20+ years of experience as a safety and health leader for Charah Solutions, a leading provider of mission-critical environmental and maintenance services to the power generation industry. Previous to Charah Solutions, Valentine was with Gray Construction, an ENR Top-100 design-build firm headquartered in Lexington, Ky. with offices across the U.S., Canada and Japan. Danny Vernon, Kentucky Safe - VPP Program Manager, Kentucky Labor Cabinet
Danny Vernon is a native of North Carolina and moved to Kentucky in the summer of 1988 after completing four years of service in the US Army. He attended Murray State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health in the spring of 1995. He started with the Kentucky Labor Cabinet in June of 1995 as a Safety Consultant with the Division of Education and Training. After spending 13 years as a Safety Consultant, Danny has held the position of Program Manager, managing the Partnership Branch since February of 2008. In addition to administering VPP for the state of Kentucky, the Partnership Branch also administers other Partnership offerings, including CPP (Construction Partnership Program) and SHARP (Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program).
