Stephen Behnke, M.D., M.B.A., CEO, Lexington Clinic
The Lexington Clinic board of directors appointed Stephen J. Behnke, MD, MBA, as the organization’s new chief executive officer (CEO). Effective July 6, 2021, Dr. Behnke assumed leadership responsibilities for the oldest and largest group practice, which includes 30+ specialties and has more than 25 locations throughout Central Kentucky.

Prior to joining Lexington Clinic, Dr. Behnke has served as chief executive officer, president, medical director and as an attending physician at MedOne Hospital Physicians from 2005 onwards, where his broad understanding and knowledge of overall operations enabled him to play a pivotal role in the Ohio-based organization’s growth over the years. As a seasoned healthcare executive with 14+ years of administrative experience, Dr. Behnke brings not only impressive experience, but also a new and energizing vision to Lexington Clinic.

Dr. Behnke obtained his MD/MBA dual degree from University of Louisville and is board certified in internal medicine. He has also served as a clinical assistant professor of hospital medicine at the Ohio State University prior to joining MedOne Hospital Physicians.

Dr. Behnke and his wife, Ashleigh, and their four children reside in Lexington, KY.

Landon Borders, Sr. Executive Director, Technology Development, Product Management and R&D Partnerships, UK Innovate 
Landon Borders is the Senior Executive Director of R&D Partnerships, Product Management and Technology Development for UK Innovate, where he leads industry collaborations and supports innovation across Kentucky’s priority industries and UK HealthCare. He is also the founding Director of the Estate Whiskey Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to discovering, advancing and promoting the virtues of estate-produced whiskey and Chief Ecosystem Officer of GAME Change, which is building the nation’s first regional innovation hub for circular manufacturing and supply chain resilience. With more than 20 years of experience driving product and technology innovation at companies including Bullard, Big Ass Fans and Lexmark, Borders has played a leading role in strengthening Kentucky’s industries and the broader innovation ecosystem.

Condrad Daniels, President, HJI Supply Chain Solutions
Condrad Daniels is the president of HJI Supply Chain Solutions, a single source provider of outsourced manufacturing, contract warehousing and 3PL supply chain solutions. With 24 years of experience in the logistics industry, Condrad has served a variety of roles within HJI from Quality Systems Engineer to Chief Operating Officer. In this span, Condrad has been an instrumental part of the growth of HJI in omni-channel order fulfillment, contract warehousing, kitting, assembly, distribution and manufacturing support services. He was named president of HJI Supply Chain Solutions in 2017 after a 4-year generational and succession planning period. With his leadership of the 2nd generation family business, the company has grown from a single industry facility into one the largest woman and minority owned businesses in Kentucky providing 3PL solutions in the automotive, food and beverage, consumer goods and appliance industries. HJI has over 1.3 million sq. ft. in 8 locations across Kentucky and Tennessee.

Condrad was awarded the 2018 Brown-Forman Family Business Leadership Award, which recognizes an individual with the highest level of family business leadership and excellence in our community. In 2019 Condrad was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist for the Central-East region. Condrad played college football and earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech. He later went on to earn his MBA from the University of Louisville. In his leisure time, Condrad enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his kids’ sports teams, playing golf, and any activity involving fitness!

Audria Denker, President, Kentucky Board of Nursing
As the Chief Clinical, Integration and Experience Officer at Galen College of Nursing, Dr. Audria Denker leads institutional efforts focused on leadership and organizational development, learning and professional development, student experience, clinical education delivery and healthcare relationships.

Dr. Denker has served in various roles since joining Galen College in 2005, most recently serving as Executive VP of Nursing (EVP). While serving in that position, Dr. Denker was responsible for day-to-day program operations, staffing and workload, clinical operations, simulation, and student support. During her tenure as EVP, all prelicensure RN programs obtained ACEN accreditation, and all program NCLEX pass rates exceeded state and national averages.

Dr. Denker gained extensive clinical-practice knowledge at Pikeville Medical Center following her graduation from Pikeville College (now University of Pikeville). She also attained a wealth of healthcare-management experience during 14 years as a pediatric-oncology nurse manager at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, and an additional two years’ human resources experience as Nurse retention manager for the Norton Healthcare system.

In her spare time, Dr. Denker is an active leader in numerous civic and charitable organizations. In 2000, she was appointed to the Hemophilia Advisory Committee for Kentucky’s Commission for Children with Special Healthcare Needs. In 2009, she was named chair of the committee, a position she still holds. She was also appointed to the Kentucky Board of Nursing in 2018 and currently serves as the President of the Board. Dr. Denker is also the Southeast Director for the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN), on the NCLEX committee for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, and the Public Policy Committee for the National League of Nursing.

She recently received accolades for her work with associate degree nursing programs by being named a Fellow in the Academy of Associate Degree Nursing (FAADN). She was also named to Academy of Nursing Education Fellows (ANEF) for her contributions to solving the nursing shortages in Eastern Kentucky.

Dr. Denker received the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Pikeville (Kentucky) College (now University of Pikeville), and the Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Bellarmine University in Louisville.

Robert Duvall, Vice Chair, House Health Services Committee                                           
Rep. Robert Duvall currently serves as a State Representative for the 17th District, which includes portions of Bowling Green and Warren County. For the past 30 years, Dr. Duvall has served in healthcare as an optometrist and a small business owner. He currently serves at the Vice Chair of the Health Services Committee in the House. He also served on the Make America Healthy Again taskforce during the 2025 interim. Other committees include: Families and Children, Banking & Insurance, Economic Development & Workforce, and the Public Pension Oversight Board. His wife is Warren County School Board member Amy Duvall, and they have 3 adult children and two young granddaughters.

Chelsea Ex-Lubeskie, R&D Partnerships Manager, UK College of Medicine and UK Healthcare
Chelsea Ex-Lubeskie serves as the R&D Partnerships Manager for the UK College of Medicine and UK HealthCare. In her role she provides focused and dedicated support to advance impactful innovation and research industry partnerships for the College of Medicine and UK HealthCare.

Previously, Chelsea worked on the Business Development team at Cresilon, Inc. where she managed their intellectual (IP) portfolio, key supplier relationships, and strategic business opportunities. Before Cresilon, Chelsea served as the Sr. Business Development Manager at the Foundation for Research Development, the Medical University of South Carolina’s technology transfer office. In her role, she managed the overall startup company program and the SBIR/STTR granting program for MUSC faculty startups. Additionally, she evaluated a portion of MUSC medical device, therapeutic, and software inventions for commercial potential, managed the protection of IP, marketed technologies to prospective industry partners, and negotiated options and license agreements. Chelsea holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in bioengineering from Clemson University and is a former entrepreneur and co-founder of Tarian Orthotics, LLC.

Christin Godale, Executive Director, LifeSciKY
Christin Godale, PhD is a neuroscientist, ecosystem builder, and the founding Executive Director of LifeSciKY, a nonprofit life sciences lab incubator in Northern Kentucky. With experience across academic research and venture capital, she built LifeSciKY to help early-stage biotech companies move research forward by expanding access to lab infrastructure, shared equipment, and a collaborative innovation community. Dr. Godale is deeply committed to STEM education, statewide collaboration, and building long-term economic impact through science.

Jaime Grund, MS, LGC, Director, Precision Medicine, St. Elizabeth Healthcare
Jaime Grund is the Director of The Center for Precision Medicine and Genomic Health at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, where she leads innovative programs designed to enhance patient care and expand access to genetic-based services. With more than 25 years of experience in clinical genetics, she has successfully initiated programs in cancer prevention and early detection, pharmacogenomics, cardiovascular genetics, precision oncology, perinatal support, and precision wellness. Jaime is board-certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and actively contributes to multiple institutional and state advisory committees. Her extensive expertise and dedication to the field have made significant advancements in the integration of genetics into clinical practice in Northern Kentucky.  

Danielle Harmon, System Director of Community Development, Appalachian Regional Healthcare
Danielle Harmon is the System Director of Community Development at Appalachian Regional Healthcare, a 14-hospital healthcare system covering Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia. She is a graduate of the National Leadership Academy for Public’s Health, and holds a degree in Public Health from the University of the Cumberlands. In her community development role, Danielle works to further the mission of ARH, creating new educational programs, funding opportunities, partnerships and coalitions that better the health and well-being of Appalachians. She manages a team of Community Development Regional Managers, as well as corporate sponsorships, community benefit, Regional Advisory Councils, and the organization's Community Health Needs Assessments. She considers herself a champion for health equity, and a cheerleader for all of Appalachia.

Curtis Koons, MD, President, Bluegrass Precision Wellness
Curtis J. Koons, MD, is a lifelong native Kentuckian and a board-certified physician specializing in anesthesiology and lifestyle medicine. He serves as Assistant Chief Medical Officer at Pikeville Medical Center and is the founder and medical director of Bluegrass Precision Wellness, a physician-led precision health and longevity practice focused on genomics, metabolic optimization, and personalized wellness strategies. Dr. Koons blends evidence-based medicine with advanced diagnostics to help patients improve healthspan, performance, and long-term vitality, with a mission rooted in improving the health of Kentucky and beyond.

Donald H. Lloyd, II, President and CEO, UK St. Claire
Donald H. Lloyd II joined St. Claire Healthcare as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2019, and in 2024, led the organization to sign an expanded partnership with the University of Kentucky, updating the organization’s name to UK St. Claire.  

Don has over 30 years of health care administration experience as both a chief executive officer and a chief operating officer. Prior to joining UK St. Claire, he was president and CEO at CHRISTUS Health Southwest Louisiana, located in Lake Charles, Louisiana for six years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina and his Master’s in Business Administration from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina.

Don was born in Huntsville, Alabama but was primarily raised in the Cape Kennedy, Florida area. He met his wife, Monti, in junior high school, and today they are the proud parents of three children, and five grandchildren.  The Lloyd’s son Buddy and his family reside in Charleston, South Carolina where he works in the concert promotion and production business. Their daughter Katie is a landscape architect and artist. She and her family reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. Their daughter Liliana, attends Rowan County Senior High School.

Trudi Matthews, Chief of Value-based Programs, Public Policy and Community Initiatives, Office of the Executive Vice President Health Administration, UK Healthcare and Executive Director, Kentucky Regional Extension Center
Trudi Matthews is Chief of Value-Based Programs, Public Policy, and Community Initiatives at UK HealthCare, the academic health system of the University of Kentucky. She partners with executive leadership to advance value-based strategies across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers while also serving as UK HealthCare’s government affairs and policy lead. Trudi is Executive Director of the Kentucky Regional Extension Center and leads the Healthy Kentucky Initiative, advancing statewide improvement in care delivery, technology adoption, and population health.

With more than two decades of experience at the intersection of health policy, quality, and innovation, Trudi has led nationally recognized initiatives in health IT, practice transformation, and value-based care. Her career spans leadership roles in state government, multi-state collaboratives, and federally funded programs focused on improving outcomes and equity. Trudi holds a BA and MA in political science from Iowa State University and a graduate certificate in Improving Healthcare Value from the University of Kentucky.

LaToi Mayo, Shareholder, Littler Mendelson, P.C.
LaToi D. Mayo has advised, counseled and defended employers in regard to labor and employment matters for over 18 years. Most recently, LaToi has developed extensive skills in enforcing employment related arbitration agreements,defending and managing wage and hour class actions and advising employers on state and federal wage and hour compliance issues. She also routinely assists employers with respect to diversity, discrimination, and leave issues. She works frequently with hospitality and service related groups, manufacturers, health care facilities, financial institutions and local city governments.

LaToi routinely presents at seminars focusing on labor and employment topics for a variety of professional organizations in Kentucky. She also conducts training for managers, supervisors and the general workforce and provides labor and employment compliance counseling.

David Melanson, Executive Director for External Relations, University of Kentucky
David Melanson serves as Executive Director for External Relations at the University of Kentucky. 

Melanson began his higher education career at the University of Kentucky in 2004, where he served as speechwriter for former UK President Lee T. Todd, Jr. for nearly seven years. Melanson then became Director of Alumni and External Relations at the UK College of Pharmacy, before joining UK CAER in December 2015. He served at CAER for a decade before returning to University Relations in 2025. 

Melanson served as Staff Representative to the UK Board of Trustees for nine years and was Chair of the University Athletics Committee for more than five years. 

A New Hampshire native, Melanson graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1999 before moving to Kentucky to become a reporter at the Danville Advocate-Messenger. He then moved to St. Louis, where he served as communications manager for an international not-for-profit organization. 

Stephen Meredith, Chair of Senate Committee on Health Services, Kentucky Legislature 
Senator Stephen Meredith (R-Leitchfield) represents Kentucky’s 5th District, which includes Breckinridge, Butler, Grayson, Ohio, and Meade counties. He serves as Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Health Services. Meredith is also a member of the Senate Standing Committees on Education; Licensing & Occupations; and Families & Children. Additionally, Meredith serves as a member of the Government Contract Review Committee and the newly established Artificial Intelligence Task Force.Before his election to the State Senate in 2016, Meredith built a 40-year career in healthcare, including three decades as CEO of Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. Under his leadership, the hospital grew from a small county facility into a regional provider, expanding services and infrastructure to meet the unique needs of rural hospitals. Meredith holds Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from Western Kentucky University and a Master’s in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota. A dedicated community leader, Meredith served on the Grayson County Chamber of Commerce Board, including a term as Chair, and has been involved with numerous local organizations. He led Grayson County’s successful effort to earn the Work Ready in Progress Community designation, supporting workforce and economic development initiatives in the region. Meredith resides in Leitchfield with his wife of over 40 years, Karen. They have two sons and six grandchildren. Above all, he considers his family to be his greatest achievement.

Kim Moser, Chair, House Health Services Committee, Kentucky Legislature
Kim Moser, a resident of Taylor Mill KY, is a registered nurse with many years of experience in Neonatal ICU and as a flight nurse for the UK Neonatal Transport Team. Her graduate work in Architecture lead to hospital design work and other construction projects.

Kim is the Past-President of the American Medical Association Alliance, leading advocacy on health care and medical legislative issues nationally. She was elected Chair of the Kentucky Physicians’ PAC as the first non-physician to lead a Physicians’ PAC in the nation. She is the founding director of the Northern KY Office of Drug Control Policy, working to eliminate the scourge of Substance Abuse, and currently serves on the NKY Drug Policy Board.

Kim is passionate about health care and medical legislative issues and has been an effective leader on local, state and national levels. She was elected to the State Legislature in 2016 and serves the 64th House District in the Kentucky General Assembly. Kim chairs the Health Services Committee and serves on the Judiciary and Elections and Constitutional Amendments Committees. She has passed numerous pieces of legislation and is a leader on health care, addiction, mental health and criminal justice policy. Kim has received many awards for her work and leadership.

Kim and her husband Neal have been married for 40 years and have five grown sons and three grandchildren. They love traveling, boating and family adventures. They are avid hikers, having climbed to Mt. Everest Base Camp and Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Ben Mudd, PharmD, Executive Director, Kentucky Pharmacists Association
Ben Mudd, PharmD, serves as Executive Director of the Kentucky Pharmacists Association, where he leads statewide efforts to advance patient access, improve healthcare affordability, and modernize care delivery. His work focuses on healthcare system reform, workforce innovation, and addressing the structural drivers of rising costs—particularly within Medicaid and employer-sponsored health plans.

Dr. Mudd is also an independent pharmacy owner, giving him firsthand experience with the operational and clinical realities facing healthcare providers. He regularly works with legislators, employers, and healthcare leaders to develop policy and practice solutions that improve outcomes while reducing unnecessary spending across the healthcare system.

Lawrence “Larry” Rector, VP of Finance and Strategic Operations, River Valley Health, and Owner, Rector Business Solutions, LLC
Lawrence “Larry” Rector, is the Vice President of Finance and Strategic Operations at River Valley Health (RVH), formally known as Cherokee Health Systems. In his current role, he collaborates with the executive team to align RVH’s mission-driven care with bold, sustainable growth strategies. In addition, he offers financial and operational consulting services for healthcare organizations via Rector Business Solutions, LLC. Previously, Larry served as CEO/COO/CFO of Dayspring Health, where he oversaw the healthcare activities of the organization in both Kentucky and Tennessee. A recent highlight includes opening a comprehensive 55,000 sq. ft. regional health center in Williamsburg, KY utilizing NMTC, USDA financing, and the HRSA loan guarantee. He is a licensed CPA in Kentucky and is a member of the AICPA and KyCPA societies of CPAs. When away from the office, Larry enjoys family time with his wife Amy and four children, or spending time reading, exercising, or completing house projects.

Annie Santos, J.D.,  Public Affairs Manager, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce
While born a Hoosier, Annie is proud to call Kentucky her home now. Annie is the Public Affairs Manager at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. In her role, Annie focuses on healthcare and infrastructure policy, utilizing her legal background in healthcare and regulatory law. Annie holds an undergraduate degree from Marian University and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law. During her time at Marian, she worked for the Indiana House of Representatives.  She resides in Louisville with her husband and two golden retrievers, Ellie and Bailey.  

Tama The, M.D., Assistant Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, University of Kentucky/UK Healthcare
Tama Thé is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician, Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky, and an AI Research Fellow with the National Board of Medical Examiners. He co-leads the University’s undergraduate AI literacy course and is actively working on various healthcare projects to use AI to improve the health outcomes of every Kentuckian.

Reta Underwood, President, Consultants for Long Term Care, Inc.
Reta Underwood has over 35 years of professional work experience in the long-term care industry. Early in her career she held roles, at the facility level; however, over the last two decades her focus has been in consulting and education services throughout the country. Reta has supplied input to CMS and have been included on projects and discussions pertaining to post-acute. She holds national certifications through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC) as a Resident Assessment Coordinator (RAC-CT); Quality (QAPI) Professional and Nurse Manager and is a certified ICD-10-CM coder.  

Purna Veer, President, V-Soft Consulting
Purna Veer, a first-generation immigrant from India, is the co-founder and president of V-Soft Consulting, an advanced technology solutions company specializing in staffing, digital transformation, and technology infrastructure. Since beginning in 1997, V-Soft has established offices across North America, Canada, and India, with its headquarters located in Louisville, Kentucky.

As V-Soft Consulting continued to expand solutions and flourish, Purna simultaneously followed other interests and opened Tandoori Fusion in 2017, a successful Indian Fusion Restaurant in Louisville, and Veering Creek Farm; the source of many fresh ingredients for Tandoori Fusion and the home of Pravasa Vineyard and Winery. The locations of Purna’s business interests set the stage for his commitment to community. His investments and involvement extend to every market through employee sponsorships, philanthropic support through V-Soft Cares, and board leadership for economic development. Purna is the Immediate Past Chair for Greater Louisville Inc. and current Board Chair for the Hindu Temple of Kentucky. In addition, he serves on the Boards of Home of the Innocents and Louisville Urban League and is Chair of TechFirst.

Purna’s success in his business and community has been acknowledged through many awards over the years. Most recently in 2022 and 2023, he was an honored member of the Louisville Business First Power 50 as one of the most influential people in Greater Louisville. He was named Volunteer of the Year in 2022 by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives. Recognition has also come in the form of Most Admired CEO by Business First, the Mosaic Award Celebrating International Americans, and Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young.

Purna graduated from Shivaji University in India with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He continued his studies in the United States, pursuing a master’s degree in environmental engineering at Texas A&M University and in Business Administration and Management at Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management.

Ashli Watts, President & CEO, Kentucky Chamber 
Ashli Watts was named the President and CEO for the Kentucky Chamber, the state’s largest business association, in November 2019. Ashli joined the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce in November of 2012, and during her tenure as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at the Chamber, she has led efforts in passing significant pieces of legislation such as felony expungement, right to work legislation, workers’ compensation reform, unemployment insurance reform and tax reform. Prior to joining the Chamber, she worked at the Kentucky Bar Association and the Legislative Research Commission.

Ashli graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History in 2004 and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Louisville. Ashli is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Kentucky, currently serves on the boards for Campbellsville University, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Association of State Chambers, and the Louisville Orchestra. She was appointed by Governor Andy Beshear, and confirmed by the Kentucky State Senate, to serve on the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission, where she was also elected Chair in 2025. She currently resides in Frankfort with her husband Ryan and two children, Emma and Carter.

Dr. Serenity Wright, Senior Executive Director of Innovation, Community Health, and Societal Impact, University of Kentucky - UK Innovate
Serenity Wright, Ed.D., is a passionate leader driving economic development through transformational change initiatives rooted in social innovation, expanding entrepreneurial access and opportunity, and fostering creativity by building integrated systems that connect research, business, and policy. She currently leads the Translating Research through Universal Solutions Together (TRUST) Hub, serving as the Senior Executive Director for Innovation, Community Health, and Societal Impact at UK Innovate within the University of Kentucky (LinkedIn), where she develops and manages new innovation and entrepreneurship programs.

Dr. Wright earned her doctorate from the University of Kentucky in policy, measurement, and evaluation. Her research interests focus on expanding access to opportunities, and she employs a hard science approach through a lens of cultural competency for her theoretical orientation. Her career spans teaching high school for eight years, serving as Associate Dean for Diversity and International Students Services at Transylvania University, working in city government, and serving in the Dean’s Cabinet for the Gatton College of Business and Economics. She has served as a leadership and business development consultant across the country for the last 10 years.
