Hon. Samuel J. Bach, Chief Administrative Law Judge 
Samuel Bach is an Administrative Law Judge for the Department of Workers’ Claims. He graduated from Bellarmine in 1988 and from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 1992, where he also served as President of his Law School Class. Before his appointment as an ALJ in 2022, he worked in private practice representing both injured workers and employers in all forms of workers’ compensation litigation. Judge Bach and his wife Melissa reside in Henderson and have two adult children.

Hon. W. Greg Harvey, Chief Administrative Law Judge 
Judge Harvey is an Administrative Law Judge and presides over workers’ compensation cases throughout the Commonwealth. He was appointed to that position in 2017. Prior to his work as an ALJ, Judge Harvey was in private practice for 14 years and his practice was litigation-based and focused on employment and workers’ compensation. He obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of law and his bachelor’s degree from Murray State University.

H. Douglas Jones, Esq., Founder and Member-in-Charge, JSB Attorneys, PLLC
Jones is a Member of JSB Attorneys, PLLC, which provides state-wide professional services through regional Kentucky offices.  He has over 30 years’ experience defending employers in Kentucky workers’ compensation claims. Jones was previously selected as one of the “50 Most Influential People in Workers’ Compensation” nationally and Best Lawyers in America - Kentucky. He has served as President of the Kentucky Bar Association, Workers’ Compensation Section, as well as an adjunct professor at Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where he taught Kentucky workers’ compensation law. Jones has an AV (highest) Martindale Hubbell rating and was inducted into the American Bar Association College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers in 2007. He has authored and co-authored numerous texts related to workers’ compensation law. Jones has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from University of Kentucky, and a Juris Doctor Degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

Michael T. Kunjoo, Esq., Partner, Wilson & McQueen, PLLC 
Michael Kunjoo was born and raised just outside of Washington D.C. and came to Lexington to attend the University of Kentucky. He stuck around for law school, where he met his wife, and never left.  He initially practiced workers’ compensation defense, but decided to become a “good guy” and shifted to representing injured workers. In addition to his law practice and being the father of three young boys, he currently sits on the Boards for DiverCity Lexington, the Lexington Children’s Theater, and the Leadership Lexington Alumni Association.

Kenneth C. “Trey” Smith, III, Administrative Law Judge 
Judge Smith is an Administrative Law Judge with the KY Department of Workers’ Claims. He was appointed as an ALJ in December 2022. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with an accounting degree and French minor in 2000 and obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2004. Prior to his appointment as an ALJ, Judge Smith worked as an attorney in private practice in Eastern Kentucky for over 17 years representing injured Plaintiff’s in workers’ compensation, civil litigation, and disability claims. Judge Smith resides with his family in Ashland, KY.
