The KYSHRM Director/ Special Projects Manager will work closely with Kentucky SHRM and the Senior Vice President of Business Services at the Kentucky Chamber.  Ideal candidate will have a background in association and/or project management, as well as a background in human resources with appropriate certification(s). WHO YOU ARE

In the dual role of KYSHRM Director/ Special Projects Manager you will focus on the long- and short-term goals and objectives of the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) as defined by the KYSHRM board of directors. The goal is to expand the KYSHRM brand and develop KYSHRM as a nationally recognized leader for its support and development of local SHRM Chapters and individual members across Kentucky. This position will also work closely with the Senior Vice President of Business Services on special projects.  To be successful in this role you should have experience in nurturing a positive working environment by engaging in employee relations and maintaining an upbeat attitude. Your goal is to always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly and confidently. S/he enjoys variety in the workday, can switch hats quickly and interacts well with a variety of different people.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required; three to five years experience.

KYSHRM

  • Create/execute annual operating budget.
  • Facilitate and execute annual business plans and the triennial strategic plan.
  • Strengthen the KYSHRM-Local SHRM Chapter partnerships by circulating information and resources; providing recommendations to local chapter executives on operations, membership, sponsorship and board functions (i.e., bylaws, strategic planning, etc.); and visiting all chapters (annually).
  • Participate in the annual national SHRM leadership conference and any other meetings, events and activities. In addition, provide representation on other relevant boards as directed by KYSHRM.
  • Responsible for marketing and social media for KYSHRM.
  • Provide all logistics for KYSHRM-related meetings and activities (including agenda and sponsorship development).
  • Perform all administrative and professional responsibilities of the organization.

KENTUCKY CHAMBER

This position will perform the following functions. Other duties may be assigned as appropriate.

  • Assist with the development/execution of special projects.
  • Provide accreditation services for eligible Chamber education events.
  • Assist with the development of content for the Best Places to Work in Kentucky Magazine.
  • Assist with the development and content for HRKentucky.com.
  • Attend and provide support at Kentucky Chamber events.
