Jennifer is currently a Staff Assistant to Commissioner Goins for the Kentucky Employees’ Health Plan within the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet. One of her main tasks is to assist in coordination of the Wellness benefits for the plan and communicating these benefits to members across the state. Jen has been a Registered Dietitian for 15 years and has used this degree in many avenues.  She has found that Public Health is where her passion lays.  During one opportunity prior to joining the DEI team, Jen specialized in feeding techniques for children born with Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate.  She also assisted in managing a Child Nutrition program in childcare facilities across the state that encourages healthy meals and snacks for Kentucky’s children. In her free time, Jen is an avid runner and has enjoyed training for and running half marathons races.  Her next adventure is training for a triathlon in summer of 2019.

Cassie Drochelman, M.Ed, Program Manager, Mary Byron Project
Cassie is Program Manager at the Mary Byron Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of intimate partner violence.  She has a masters in Health Education from the University Of Missouri. Cassie has more than a decade of experience as an advocate and educator in the movement to end intimate partner violence. She began supporting victims/survivors as a volunteer in undergrad.  Since then, she’s coordinated student violence prevention efforts at the University of Missouri, provided training and technical support to community domestic violence agencies at the Texas Council on Family Violence, trained and supervised advocates at the National Domestic Violence Hotline in Austin, and facilitated community outreach as a victim advocate for Family Tree in Denver. She’s excited to be back home in Kentucky, helping workplaces respond to intimate partner violence.

Jody Ensman, HR Manager Health & Wellness, University of Kentucky
Jody Ensman, M.S., holds the position of HR Manager of the Health & Wellness Program at the University of Kentucky. Her last 10 years in the Air Force were spent teaching leadership, supervision and communication skills to military leaders and managing the teaching staff.  After military retirement, Jenny spent 10 years in the corporate world as both an organizational development manager and senior HR leader before joining the State. She also provides training and motivational presentations for various non-profit groups and corporations.  In 2015, Jenny was inducted into the Kentucky Military Hall of Fame. Sherry Porter has more than twenty years of experience in the employee benefits field.  She began her legal career as an investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration, where she conducted investigations to ensure compliance with ERISA and related laws and negotiated compliance agreements to correct violations.  Ms. Porter regularly advises clients on legislation affecting employee benefit plans, such as HIPAA privacy and security rules and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Carlos Rivas, MS, CSCS, ACSM-CPT, President & Chief Performance Officer Carlos Rivas holds bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Health Promotion and Counseling, and a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. Maggie Roetker, Director, Public Relations, Norton Healthcare
Maggie Roetker has more than 20 years of public relations experience as is currently director of public relations for Norton Healthcare, Louisville’s largest health system. She oversees all public relations activities for the not-for-profit organization that includes 225 locations throughout Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana, including four adult-service hospitals and the area’s only children’s hospital. Norton Healthcare holds the market share in Louisville, with more than 14,000 employees, 1,000 employed medical providers and about 2,000 total physicians on its medical staff at its hospitals, outpatient centers, urgent care centers and physician offices. Jairus Rossi, Research Professor, University of Kentucky
Jairus Rossi is an Assistant Research Professor in Agricultural Economics and the Community Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky.  His research generally involves understanding the development of local food systems with a particular emphasis on Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).  His work on CSA examines economic, health, and social impacts of this food system marketing and production model. He also has a longstanding interest in land use issues related to agriculture and the environment.

Alice Shade, CEO, SentryHealth
Ms. Shade is CEO and co-founder of SentryHealth, a Kentucky-based, technology-enabled health management company that specializes in creating and delivering clinical programs to improve employee health and well-being.  Alice has a Master of Health Administration from the University of Kentucky.  Her executive experience includes roles within Health Plans and Healthcare Providers, with special emphasis on data-driven approaches to clinical care management. Alice was recently recognized as a Kentucky Chamber of Commerce 2018 Emerging Entrepreneur.

Jeremy Stich, MD, Physician, Medical Director, Access Med
Jeremy Stich moved to Kentucky in the late 1990s and has planted deep family roots. He is is Co-Owner and Co-Founder of Access Med; Central Kentucky's first and premier Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice. Jeremy completed his training and residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Kentucky and is board certified. Jim Trujillo is a Certified Financial Planner® and a Certified College Funding Specialist® for ARGI.  Since 2013, he has provided personal financial planning services to individuals, and retirement planning services to business owners, plan administrators and retirement plan committees to create, implement and maintain their employer sponsored retirement plans. He now focuses most of his time on customizing financial wellness programs for over 75 companies throughout Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. As a former actor and graduate of the University of Kentucky’s Theatre program, Jim is a comfortable and confident public speaker. Ashli Watts, Senior Vice President, Public Affairs, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce
Ashli Watts was named the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at the Kentucky Chamber in October 2017. She joined the staff of the Kentucky Chamber in November 2012 as a Manager of Public Affairs specializing in health care policy. In October 2014, she was promoted to the position of Director of Public Affairs, and in April of 2016 she was named Vice President of Public Affairs. She has a degree in dietetics from the University of Kentucky and is a nationally certified health coach and personal trainer. Timothy Woods, Professor, University of Kentucky
Dr. Woods is a Professor of Agricultural Economics in the area of agribusiness management and marketing.  He has devoted much of his career to commercial horticulture markets and is the former Chair of the S-1067 project Assessing the Consumer Behavior, Market Coordination and Performance of the Consumer−Oriented Fruit and Vegetable Sector.  He is the faculty director for the UK Center for Crop Diversification and has devoted his time and energy to particularly help facilitate the development of small ag-related businesses and cooperatives that have promising innovative processes and/or products.  He served as the staff economist to the Kentucky Governor’s Office of Ag Policy and Ag Development Board.  His work in CSAs, local food systems, farm entrepreneurship, business planning, cooperative development, consumer market research for microenterprises has been presented at numerous professional meetings.
