Renowned National Journalists Carl Bernstein and Mark Halperin to Keynote Kentucky Chamber’s 12th Annual Meeting, with Moderator Scott Jennings

Business Summit and Annual Meeting set for July 20 and 21

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Chamber announces national correspondents Carl Bernstein and Mark Halperin will be the keynote speakers, with moderator Scott Jennings, at the 2017 Annual Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 20.

The 12th Business Summit and Annual Meeting will be on July 20 and July 21 at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville. During the keynote address to almost 1,000 attendees, the celebrity journalists will speak on “Covering Politics in the Trump Era.”

Carl Bernstein has had a half-century career as a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist. His career took off as a Washington Post investigative journalist during the Watergate scandal. Bernstein went on to write All the President’s Men and The Final Days after the scandal. His recent book, A Woman in Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton makes Bernstein a five time best-selling author.

Mark Halperin has spent his illustrious career as a senior political analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. Halperin co-authored the award winning series Game Change and Double Down. Halperin is also the creator, executive producer, and co-host of Showtime’s political documentary, The Circus.

Scott Jennings, a Kentucky native, has served in four presidential campaigns, three U.S. Senate races, and dozens of other campaigns. He also served in the White House as a special assistant to President George W. Bush. In 2012, Jennings co-founded the Louisville based RunSwitch Public Relations. Jennings guest speaks on Fox News Channel and MSNBC and recently signed as a political commentator for CNN.

Also on the agenda for the Kentucky Chamber’s 2017 Business Summit and Annual Meeting are keynotes on “How to Future-Proof Kentucky Against the Top Trends Transforming Tomorrow” and “The Bourbon Industry in Kentucky: A Conversation with Garvin Brown IV.”
